Wilson Ball 02:40
Contact the space behind Nothing left to the grind Lost in a place remind I can't believe that You can't tell me you love me Taking a breath and sigh You know this place reminds Driving down the 101 feelin' so gorgeous Glad I'm not the only one who looks amazing Man, I think this weed got me so lazy The sun is looking at your boy a little crazy Internet - like the needle in the haystack So many artists never came back, stayed wack Can you go to the throne room for me please I think I left my crown in there Contact the space behind Nothing left to the grind Lost in a place remind I can't believe that You can't tell me you love me Taking a breath and sigh You know this place reminds I wake up, throw on a shirt with some green hues A pair of Dickie pants and some clean shoes If you're offended by the weed, that's between you I'm steady stackin' on the C.R.E.A.M. to make the dreams true I walk around with this crown that I found on the floor For sure, if you're bored, I got the cure And more, just double check you reading all the fine print Calibrate the aura cause I'm feelin' so vibrant Over 9000, ain't stopping for the evening With a dope style ever since a poppy seedling For me to bring myself back to the present Give ya head slaps that wack you to the essence Effervescence, never stressing learning lessons Close to Armageddon so I check in with my blessings And manifest it, spread the universal message Appear near and far to keep them cats guessing Contact the space behind Nothing left to the grind Lost in a place remind I can't believe that You can't tell me you love me Taking a breath and sigh I can't believe that You can't tell me You love me Taking a breath and sigh You know this place reminds

Can't breathe all the stale air Half a mile from Bel-Air I must be in California Hanging out with weirdo friends Oh how the fun never ends I must be in California Livin's easy in the West No one cares for the homeless I must be in California Oh yeah I must be in California Oh yeah I must be in California Oh yeah I must be in Surfin' on the open shores Slurpees from that Indian's store I must be in California I don't mind if you don't care Got no mind and I don't care I must be in California All the potheads grow their weed Mexico's just up the street I must be in California

Milk spilling on the brand new floor Mommy's gonna yell again, it's all hell again No clovers in your Lucky Charms You know it's a fuckin' shame But who's to blame You know you better break the floor So your mommy'll never know You know you better break the bowl And get a different cereal It's all politics, politics It's all politics We played the same old game each time You know I'm really fucking sick of Gears of War Let's go to the store The clerk is looking really pissed You know that kid's about to lose his job Because of Silent Bob You know you better break the glass And I'll pay you in cash You know you can just simply go And your boss will never know It's all politics, politics It's all politics

I told you it was love And you ate it up like a cat But hell no, you were no pussy And you gave me your heart And I threw it out the window Your tears made me feel better I won't be your fuckin' toy The weather seems sunny and clear The clouds are whiter than her skin Every second just pisses me off The doors open and she's there I can't get away from her stare A broken heart is hard to mend I feel no guilt at all Just give me a reason why The angels never saved lives Her kiss was poison but I'm alive Her glance spells danger but I'm cautious Pretty sure you're some kind of whore If I were there I'd punch me And then I'd end up in the gutter Pretty sure things are brighter there I won't love mirrors anymore I won't love mirrors anymore

Not Down 04:24
There's a reason why Christ loves you more than I A wave of illusions now choosing to die And a storm that's calm is not calm for long And brutal strength will be your fall And he remains strong He carries the will To go on If sounds remain unheard they're not really around And if you're sacrificed your life's not worth much anyway Pride and glory come at a price of just 20 bucks per day And you're sold to the highest bidder if they can't pay You tried to buy yourself but lost all your earnings No wonder you're so fuckin' poor Our hero is dealt a troubling hand Three guns at his face led by his own friends And he has a laugh as he stares at the sky And he says goodbye as the walls feel his mind And he remains strong He carries the will To go on To go on, you can laugh at life, you can pass it on To go on, you can go alone, you can take it on To go on, you can go without, you can go within

Walking down the narrow street of 40th and Main I catch a rushing cab With nowhere worthwhile to go I say go down the road He grins an evil smile I take a look around as the world changes shape The acid melts my brain The meter stops and it says 50 bucks are due He takes some coke as pay And this creates the dream Beauty in horror lies unseen And if you want, he said I'll show you what it means To be free Injection number one Are you even having fun? Your eyes glazed over with a light Injection number two You question what is true Your eyes lose sight of what is right And this creates the dream Beauty in horror lies unseen And if you want, he said I'll show you what it means To be free Infection on your hands Another dying man His body starts to rot outside Police show at the scene If there's proof that things are mean It surely lies in those dead eyes And this creates the dream Beauty in horror lies unseen And if you act like all is well Perhaps I'll keep you from hell

Dawn 01:57
Sitting on the echoes of a washed afternoon And everything is bright yet silent now but I'll never let you stay a day without me By your side Waiting for the years to come By your side Waiting for the years to come I can't take a picture anymore Without smiling at the flash in my face It reminds me of the moment that's here And gone In the echoes of dawn In the echoes In the echoes of dawn

Felt-Tip Pen 04:08
You want that pretty picture I'll show you the lie instead There's no difference except That one of them is real Colored image and the soul is hard It takes the deepest beating The purple heart Is the one that's never gained The days awake at night Twilight closes in again The shadows leave The day has come once more The shadows leave The day has come once more Once more You get out You get out You get out through the back door You get out through the brick wall You get out You get out You get out through the back door You get out through the brick wall You get out You climb the stairs to flow You climb the stairs to know You're in another dimension Another dimension Another dimension You climb the stairs to flow You climb the stairs to know You're in another dimension Another dimension Another dimension You climb the stairs to flow You climb the stairs to know You're in another dimension Another dimension Another dimension You climb the stairs to flow You climb the stairs to know The felt-tip pen I have Writes so smooth and beautiful Didn't know that words could shine like pearls And all the helpless stars Waiting for their chance to flare Their day will come; the clocks will show them when The heart of hearts will pump The pulse will circulate again Don't worry, love Soon you will know the place Don't worry, love Soon you will know the place The place You get out You get out You get out through the back door You get out through the brick wall You get out You get out You get out through the back door You get out through the brick wall You get out You get out You get out You get out

Smell the breeze Climb some trees Cause I won't run I won't run I won't run away from this Feels like passing cars And who knows if it's really all that far So take directions here today And we'll be there by the next stop sign Cause I won't run I won't run I won't run away from this Cause I won't run I won't run I won't run away from this Cause I won't run I won't run I won't run away from this

It's ripe for the picking, give it time We'll soon have a world full of lemon-limes But we only have enough room in the garden To water those that are closer to the sun And there's too much desert sprawling all around us To ensure that we can get close to the sun It's like touching a jagged edge Feels like hanging on a concrete ledge From the moment the spotlight's on it's there Every moment the spotlight's on it's there Close to the sun Close to the sun So don't let go Isn't it amazing, the skyline Way too many clouds to make it shine But it's always possible to see the movement of the twilight When you're closer to the sun You can never be too early or too late it's all the same Cause now we're closer to the sun It's like touching a jagged edge Feels like hanging on a concrete ledge From the moment the spotlight's on it's there Every moment the spotlight's on it's there Close to the sun Close to the sun So don't let go Now we're deep in water but it's alright Sink or swim means nothing just give it time It's like touching a jagged edge Feels like hanging on a concrete ledge

Dusk 03:54
Take a part, cause this ain't no slideshow Take a drink, we can make the slides go And in the morning when the sun creeps up I'll still be yawning And in the evening when the moon is up I'll still be yawning I've been awake for a couple years But I'll never rest til I see the dusk Take a leak, you've had one too many Take a break, one is never plenty When the earth's shaking, when the earth is still I'll still be yawning When the bough's breaking, when the cradle rocks I'll still be yawning I've been awake for a real long time But I just won't rest til I see the dusk I just won't rest til I see the dusk I just won't rest til I see the dusk I just won't rest til I see the dusk I just won't rest til I see the dusk

about

A note from Mahvin Baby:

"The City Called Earth" represents the earliest days of jointheinternet's work, particularly capturing the transition from a previous band and project called Earth City to one called The Internet. As far as I could tell, the tracks featured in this album span a period from 2007 to 2011. "Wilson Ball", track 1, is an exception. This track was recorded in 2021/2022 with Omega Nova, a hip-hop artist from Oxnard, California.

This album is not a polished work and you will hear it. The fact is most of these tracks are basically EQ'd and mixed to the best I possibly could from mp3's I found in old emails and stuff. None of the source files have survived unless they are sleeping in one of the long broken Macbooks I keep on my TV stand. Even though it's super unpolished, I thought people who like jointheinternet might find these tracks interesting, especially since there's so many.

Thanks for listening and maybe, just maybe, you'll enjoy "The City Called Earth". For sure Wilson Ball, that track is straight flames.
